Nanosonics Trophon EPR

The Trophon EPR, from ASX-listed medical device company Nanosonics, is a device designed to disinfect intra and extra cavity ultrasound probes.

Tiller Scientific + Medical formed a partnership with Nanosonics to design and develop the EPR, in conjunction with staff and external stakeholders. During this process we have played integral roles in product design and development, testing and manufacture.

Working closely with scientists, managers, production engineers and key stakeholders, we integrated a dedicated research, development and design team into Nanosonics, all complying to strict ISO 13485 design controls.

Our responsibilities included R&D support, conceptual development, materials compatibility and selection, component testing, detail design and release of the data pack for production release, evaluation and reporting of tooling samples, reporting and working closely with people at all levels of Nanosonics’ business.

Our team continues to drive, production implementation and quality control.

Nanosonics and Tiller Scientific + Medical delivered a device offering significant benefits to the sterilisation and disinfection market. The success of the Trophon project is a testament to the strength of Australian design and innovation in the medical device space.

The Trophon EPR can be integrated into most examination rooms, ensuring easy, effective use between patients.

Easy and safe management of consumables
The disinfectant cartridge is enclosed within the device and contains enough biocide for multiple disinfection cycles. Cartridge replacement is located behind an easily accessible automated door at the machine’s side. Changing cartridges is quick, clean and easy.
