MACE Waterproof Data Logger: HVFlo
Our client, a leader in measuring and control equipment came to us for advice on the redesign and ensuing production of an existing product. During the briefing it became clear that an opportunity existed to develop a new product which could be aligned with two existing products. The synergistic effect of the combined equipment would provide considerable benefits for their customers.

Design
Design
Our first task was to evaluate the potential to manufacture the existing product, followed by an analysis of the costs and potential supply and assembly challenges. From this analysis Tiller Scientific + Medical outlined a comprehensive solution.

Prototype
Prototype
The final intrinsically safe product, made of high density polyethylene, was able to perform reliably in harsh sewer environments. To survive these tough conditions the product had to withstand submersion testing to 8m and drop testing from a height of 2m.

Measuring and control equipment is usually produced in low volumes however the refreshed design was so successful that sales were 300% over expectation. The monitoring device was subsequently awarded the Australian Design Mark and selected by the Japanese Design Council to be exhibited in Tokyo.
