Robert Tiller has been invited to sit as a founding member on The Good Design Council.
Established by Good Design Australia (GDA), the Council is an advisory committee of industry experts that will convene to discuss issues relating to Australian International Design Awards (AIDA) and provide guidance and feedback on the direction of AIDA. Like a steering committee, the Council will advise the organisers on the state of the industry and how AIDA can best reflect that ever-changing climate.
GDA, will be the pinnacle body of design in Australia, driving greater demand for design among consumers and end users of design locally and abroad.

Booked as World’s Best
February 07, 2011
Two works’ by Tiller Design are show cased in latest bible on product design & development: 1000 Product Designs. With Otto, the iconic award winning coffee maker, being featured on the cover.
The other product featured is the innovative, patented Mine Site so successful it is the industry benchmark other design companies are trying to replicate.
“It is fantastic that 100% of our submissions were accepted, especially when you think that the book showcased only 1000 of the world’s leading designs from the past few years. Our ability to apply a proven, rigorous quality management system to a dynamic design process that produces patent ready products is proving to be a hit all over the world.” – Robert Tiller.
1000 Product Designs – Form, Function, and Technology from Around the World (its full title), by Eric Chan, published by Rockport, showcases the world’s coolest products designed in the last few years. It retails on Amazon for about $40.

Design Cultures Infuse South Beach, Miami
October 01, 2009
Recently returned, after collecting a GOLD!!! International Design Excellence Award (IDEA award) and attending the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) design conference in Miami, we are happy to report growing momentum in the world which looks to Industrial Design professionals as leaders in Design Thinking.
Leveraging this skill within Product Design and Development programs is only one part of the big picture. Leveraging our skills into observation and application of user needs and desires makes great products with solid benefits to business. Taking creativity across the whole business magnifies success.
At the conference we discussed, debated and infused ideas to take Design Thinking to new places. Increased implementation of Creative Thinking aids business success and bends the industry to a more sustainable footing. All good stuff!
The industry is currently on a rapidly changing and exciting road. This Road is one that Tiller Design and Tiller Scientific+Medical are well prepared to travel. Debates on Design Thinking from around the world have helped me raise my level of excitement about what we do and how we go about doing it. It was good to hear that some of the things we, as a company, have been doing for a while are part of the global push for Creative Thinking to be implemented as early as possible into a project.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the US and cannot wait to go back and do more of the same.
